About

A young society. An old conviction.

The 10/40 Window Missionary Society was formed on January 1, 2025, born out of a 2024 gathering of pastors and missionaries from South Asia, Central Asia, and North America.

Our Story

A baton passed across two centuries.

We are not the first to believe the Great Commission belongs to the global church. We stand in a long line.

The Serampore Covenant, signed by William Carey and his eight teammates in 1805, staring at the vastness of India, states, "It is only by means of native preachers that we can hope for the universal spread of the Gospel throughout this immense continent."

Reminiscent of Paul writing to the missionary Timothy to "entrust [the gospel] to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also" (2 Timothy 2:2), the baton of the gospel must be passed from one generation to another, and the indigenous church must be looked to as co-laborers (1 Corinthians 3:9).

Two hundred years after the ministry of William Carey's team in Serampore, India, a 2024 gathering of pastors and missionaries from South Asia, Central Asia, and North America led to the formation of an organization, embracing the switch from a pre-dominant Western missionary force to a global missionary force, highlighting the invaluable role of indigenous and near-culture Christians of carrying the gospel throughout their unreached communities, people groups, and nations.

On January 1, 2025, the 10/40 Window Missionary Society formed. Every church and every Christian have a role in God's global eternal purposes. No one is exempt.

It is only by means of native preachers that we can hope for the universal spread of the Gospel throughout this immense continent.

Convictions

A shared theology and a shared missiology.

For churches to comprehensively partner in the ministry of church planting, we believe it is required to have a shared theology of the essentials of "the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints" (Jude 3) and to share the essentials of an ecclesiology and missiology.

Our theology substantially identifies with the New Hampshire Confession of Faith.

Our missiology is outlined by these convictions:

i.

God is our supreme passion and his glory is our ultimate motivation; the Word of God is our ultimate authority; the Spirit of God is our guide.

ii.

Prayer is central to our strategy; faithfulness to obey God is success; results belong to God.

iii.

There is an infinite value on immortal souls; salvation from sin is the greatest need of every human being.

iv.

The Great Commission commands the churches to make disciples; making disciples means planting healthy churches; the most effective strategy to make disciples among unreached people groups is sending indigenous missionaries to plant churches.

v.

The elder qualifications enumerated in Scripture should be used to determine a baseline for missionary qualifications.

vi.

Missionaries ought to be faithfully funded through the cooperative, sacrificial giving of churches and Christians, primarily from their sending church and their church's close partnering churches, and secondarily from global churches and Christians.

Where We Are

Working with churches across four regions.

Our work is intentionally quiet on the public web. Many of our partner churches operate in regions where visibility carries real cost.

Regions · North America · South Asia · Central Asia · Southeast Asia

Presently the 10/40 Window Missionary Society partners with churches across four regions: North America, South Asia, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia. That number is growing.

Specific locations and updates are available only to partnering churches. If your church is exploring partnership, we would be glad to talk.
